Finding Joy in All Things: A Study on Paul’s Letter to the Philippians

This week we begin a new series in Midweek Faith Formation — making it the perfect time to join!

“Joy is a consistent theme in the Christian life,” says Pastor Matt. “While happiness is fleeting and circumstantial, joy is an abiding state of well-being that endures in both good times and difficult times.”

The apostle Paul was no stranger to adversity. While carrying out his ministry he was accused of citing public unrest and placed under house arrest in Rome. While imprisoned, he wrote this letter to the church in Philippi to offer them encouragement and exhortation. Under these circumstances, Paul’s words about finding joy in Christ are especially poignant.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)

Join us on Wednesdays at 7pm in the Gustavus Adolphus Room (Library) as we learn about finding joy in difficult times during this four-week series. If you’re looking for a next step beyond Sunday morning, this is a great place to jump in.
