Building peace and working for justice is central to our calling as God’s people. This gets carried out in many ways at Augustana, including a monthly free community breakfast, partnership with the Hyde Park-Kenwood Interfaith Council, advocacy work, community work days, and hosting community groups in our building.
Hyde Park Refugee Project
Augustana and its members support a project sponsoring refugee families in Hyde Park, including those fleeing the civil war and violence in Syria and Central Africa. Augustana provides free space in its building for the refugees, volunteers and interns, and for projects like collections, trainings and speakers. For more information follow this link.
