Augustana Staff

Nancy Goede is the parish pastor of Augustana. She first came to the congregation as a seminarian at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (LSTC), and was called as the campus pastor in 1996. She served for seven years before being called to Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in suburban Oak Lawn, where she served for eleven years. There, she worked closely with Muslim communities on a variety of projects as the president of the Oak Lawn Religious Leaders Association, and was the vice-president of the Chicago Religious Leadership Network on Latin America. She is currently the vice-president of the Hyde Park-Kenwood Interfaith Council, co-dean of the South Conference of Metro Chicago Synod, and serves on the advisory council for OMNIA Peacemaker Teams. Matthew Stuhlmuller serves as campus pastor at Augustana, leading the Lutheran Campus Ministry presence within the congregation. Before his call at Augustana, he served as the mission development pastor at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Chicago. Kyle Duff serves as Pastoral Intern at Augustana and Campus Ministry for 2022/23. This is a full-time position and a requirement for those preparing to be pastors in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Kyle is a graduate of Valparaiso University and a seminarian at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. He previously served as an intern at the Hyde Park-Kenwood Interfaith Council. Aaron Musser serves as Augustana’s Cantor. Aaron (he/him) is completing his third year of seminary at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. As a student at St. Olaf College, he studied religion, saxophone, voice, church music, and conducting – his choral conducting was recognized at the American Choral Director’s Association’s 2019 National Conference in Kansas City.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in music and religion he moved to Milwaukee, WI to serve as director of music at Redeemer Lutheran Church, where he restarted the Redeemer Choir, before moving to Chicago to complete his seminary degree. Aaron enjoys forest trails, board games, and Brandi Carlile.
