Nancy Goede is the parish pastor of Augustana. She first came to the congregation as a seminarian at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (LSTC), and was called as the campus pastor in 1996. She served for seven years before being called to Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in suburban Oak Lawn, where she served for eleven years. There, she worked closely with Muslim communities on a variety of projects as the president of the Oak Lawn Religious Leaders Association, and was the vice-president of the Chicago Religious Leadership Network on Latin America. She is currently the vice-president of the Hyde Park-Kenwood Interfaith Council, co-dean of the South Conference of Metro Chicago Synod, and serves on the advisory council for OMNIA Peacemaker Teams. Michael Terry Caraher serves as the Cantor Director of Music at Augustana. A lifelong musician, Michael has been singing and intentionally making music in churches since he joined his church choir as a child in California. He received his early music training through the Royal School of Church Music Voice for Life program, and was one of the first Americans to receive the Gold Award in 2010. After attending Interlochen Arts Academy as an organ major for high school, Michael received a B.A. in American Studies and a B.M. in Church Music with an organ emphasis from St. Olaf College. He was a member of the St. Olaf Cantorei and St. Olaf Choir, and was an organ student of Dr. Cathy Rodland and a voice and conducting student of Dr. Anton Armstrong. Michael is thrilled to be part of the Augustana community and to be making intentional and meaningful music with such a wonderful congregation!

Jim Vondracek serves as Augustana’s parish administrator, assisting the pastors, committees and members, and as the facilities administrator, working with the community and partners in their use of the Augustana building.
