Education

Godly Play

Children’s education at Augustana, called Godly Play, is offered concurrently with the 10:45am worship service. All kids (potty-trained through eighth grade) are invited to participate. Kids are dismissed before the readings, and they return during the Sharing of the Peace. For approximately 30 minutes, kids engage in age-appropriate biblical storytelling and reflection. We drawing upon a Montessori-based curriculum. The storytelling is led by a member of the pastoral team and a rotation of adult leaders.

If you have any questions or are interested in becoming more involved, please contact Pastor Matt at campuspastor@augustanahydepark.org.

Adult Forum

On Sundays at 9:45 am, we hold an adult forum on a variety of topics, in the Gustavus Adolphus Room. Anyone is welcome to grab a cup of coffee and join us for these sessions, between our two worship services.

Midweek Faith Formation

On Wednesday evenings at 7 pm. Whether you’re new to Christian faith or a lifelong Lutheran, Jesus invites us into a lifelong discipline of discipleship: being formed and transformed as the people of God. Starting this fall, Pastor Matt and Vicar Adam will offer Bible studies, theological studies, book studies, and additional opportunities for prayer and worship to deepen our faith and draw connections between faith and daily life. We will meet every Wednesday at 7pm in the Gustavus Adolphus Room for a time of learning and fellowship with one another. If you’re looking for a next step beyond Sunday morning, this is a great place to jump in.
