Earth Day Weekend Neighborhood Clean-Up and Community Meal

Earth Day Weekend

NEIGHBORHOOD CLEAN UP and COMMUNITY LUNCH
Sponsored by the Green Team

Sunday April 23rd, Following the 2nd Service

You’re Invited to join the Green Team in celebrating God’s good earth on Earth Day weekend by helping to beautify the Augustana and wider neighborhood grounds by picking up trash!

Following the 10:45 Service, we will gather in Gorder Hall for brief refreshments, a mini safety training, gather our equipment, and be sent for 1 hour walking along Augustana’s property and other nearby natural areas and streets picking up trash and recyclables.
Following the 1-hour pick-up, we will return to Augustana to dispose of our materials responsibly and then enjoy a lunch together sponsored by the Green Team.

***If you plan to attend, please sign-up in church narthex, or email intern@augustanahydepark.org  to responsibly account for food.***

For those unable to walk long distances, you are encouraged to focus on any small projects to beautify Augustana’s grounds, meditate outside in our gardens on the goodness of creation, and/or assist with any food prep for our communal meal.

Food, trash receptacles, and some latex/rubber gloves will be provided. You are encouraged to bring your own work gloves to help reduce waste, and any trash-grabbers.
