Martin Luther King and the Unfinished Work of Nonviolence

After attending the Vigil for Victims of Gun Violence at Augustana last month, Dr. Curtis J. Evans wrote an article for the Martin Marty Center, where he reflects on the vigil and explores the insidious and progressive nature of violence that plagues our society.

The Marty Center is a program at the University of Chicago Divinity School, dedicated to the public understanding of religion and bridging religious studies scholarship and the wider public. Dr. Evans is Associate Professor of American Religions and the History of Christianity at the Divinity School.

Augustana member Dr. Willemien Otten is the Faculty Co-Chair of the Marty Center.
