Please welcome Adam Groenke as he begins serving as Augustana’s pastoral intern. Adam’s first Sunday will be August 16. Many of Augustana’s interns from the Divinity School are part-time as they continue to take classes, as Elizabeth Schoen did last year. Adam, though, is at LSTC and, like Kyle Duff a few years ago, he is doing an ELCA internship and will work full-time as a pastoral presence at Augustana this year.

Hello Augustana! My name is Adam Groenke, and I am very excited to be serving as your Pastoral Intern in this, my final year of seminary at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. I grew up in the ELCA as a pastor’s kid with two younger brothers, Elijah and Jeremiah. Now, I am studying to be an ordained pastor in the ELCA, with special interests in mission development and interfaith relations. I am 25 years old, grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from Miami University (OH) in May 2023 with my bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Global Politics/Diplomacy. I am a big Ohio State and Cleveland sports fan, and I like to play tennis and golf and watch movies in my spare time. I am looking forward to working, learning, and growing with y’all.
