Augustana Lutheran Church of Hyde Park

Dear Friends,

Jean Schwab, a longtime member of Augustana, died early this morning. She had gone into the hospital to be treated for colitis, but had an unexpected coronary and died. She was 80 years old.

She and her husband, Jim, adopted a family of girls many years ago, and have continued to be a support for them and their children. As an anchor of that big family, Jean will be missed every day. She was a frequent participant in the Adult Forum, which Jim has organized for many years, and had spoken a few times there about her career as a special education teacher.
