New Carpet for the Gustavus Adolphus Room

Earlier this week, new commercial felt padding and carpet were installed in Augustana’s Gustavus Adolphus Room. The previous carpet had rips in it and was pulling up, presenting a tripping hazard. Thank you to Jeanette Bordelon, Judy Merritt-Morgan and Robin Mitchell for boxing up the books on the shelves and moving them, and to Pastoral Intern Kyle Duff for getting the room back in order afterwards.

The Gustavus Adolphus Room is one of Augustana’s most used rooms, both by the congregation and our partners in the building. It is a great size for meetings, educational events and workshops for up to 20 people.

The room is named in honor of the former Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church on Drexel Avenue, which merged with Augustana in 1968.
