With the ending of the so-called Title 42 policy, the migrant and refugee sitaution at the US-Mexico border has been in the news. Also, the state of Texas has been sending bus loads of migrants to Chicago and, without coordination or a plan, dumping them in our city.
There is a volunteer group on the southside, the 12th District Migrant Support Network, that is working to to supply new arrivals with basic necessities, food, and other support. Visit their website if you’d like to help with food prep, delivery and cleanup; or donations; or fundraising.
