Internship: UChicago Roundtable on Science and Religion

Brent House, the Episcopal Center at the University of Chicago, is coordinator for the University
of Chicago as one of the sites for the Faculty Roundtable on Science and Religion project, a
project that hopes to foster cross-disciplinary community and dialogue among faculty that
explore the intersection of current scholarship with various ethical, worldview, and religious or
non-religious perspectives. More information about the UChicago Roundtable program can be
found here: http://www.uchicagoroundtable.org

This Roundtable is relatively new, so this internship is an opportunity to be part of setting the
tone and values for these important conversations, and guiding the vision and mission of this
project overall. We are committed to hosting conversations that are interfaith (including
atheist/humanist/etc.), non-adversarial, and fully inclusive, and which help advance fluency in
both scientific and religious themes that are equally crucial for a flourishing world.

At the moment, the Roundtable project is exploring alternative funding sources and partnerships
on campus, and the incoming intern will play a large role in developing new relationships and
opportunities for programming. The intern will work on marketing and communications,
networking and development, event coordination, and administration. They will report directly to
the Rev. Stacy Alan, the program coordinator, and will work with the coordinators and advisory
committee for the program.
