Augustana member Peter Pytel’s sister works for Green Desert, a humanitarian, nonprofit, nonpolitical, nonreligious, nongovernmental national Iraqi organization assisting traumatized people and children in Iraq and the Kurdistan region of Iraq through psychotherapy, psychosocial support, education, GBV and child protection. The Pytel family is planning a trip to visit her in Erbil in the Kurdistan Autonomous Region and are asking members of the Augustana community to consider two requests:
- donating Lego or Playmobil toy sets that Peter’s sister uses in her work
- contribute financially to Green Desert to help them in their earthquake relief work, including tents, blankets and other essentials
