Augustana Lutheran Church has recently begun a “Green Team,” stemming from our previous adult education studies related to creation care and climate crisis. We are working with a partner & parent organization, Faith In Place (https://www.faithinplace.org/) to help coach us in this journey, and are hoping to expand our team and our work.
NEW UPCOMING CLIMATE CARE EVENT – Nov. 16th
Share your input on the ELCA’s draft social message “Earth’s Climate Crisis” on November 16th at 6pm with Augustana’s Green Team. The ELCA is currently developing a social message on climate care and is seeking public feedback. The Green Team is hosting a session to review the draft together and provide input on behalf of Augustana. Please join us! For more info on the initiative READ HERE. Feedback is due by Dec 2.

FALL FEST
Thank you to all who came out to volunteer and participate in the Fall Sustainability Festival! The turnout from LSTC and Augustana was great and we all celebrated the abundance of harvest and creation with a liturgy and a potluck and many activities focused on fellowship and environmental sustainability.
Don’t forget that you can compost your carved pumpkin once you have finished displaying it. You can find a free composting site near you at https://cuamp.org/

GREEN TEAM INTEREST SURVEY
We are interested in discovering the areas of environmental justice that interest you, as well as providing you an opportunity to become more involved with the work of Augustana’s Green Team. Please complete this short survey to help provide direction for your Green Team as we work to plan activities and programs that are appealing to you.
We will receive surveys on a rolling basis, but ask that they be completed as soon as possible, and by Wednesday Nov 16th if possible.
