Paschal Triduum (Three Days)

Maundy Thursday, April 14, 7:30 pm

The Paschal Triduum, Three Days, begins.

Finally, on Maundy Thursday, we hear the words of forgiveness that we’ve been missing in Lent. We remember the events of Jesus’ last hours by washing feet, as Jesus washed his disciples’ feet. We eat the Holy Supper, as Jesus ate the Last Supper with his disciples, and we strip the altar, as the soldiers stripped Jesus.

Good Friday, April 15, 7:30 pm

The Paschal Triduum, Three Days, continues.

On this night, Good Friday, we read the story of the crucifixion, or the Passion, as told by the gospel writer John. We pray for our world, and meditate on the mystery of the cross and salvation.

Easter Vigil, 8:00 pm

The Paschal Triduum, Three Days, concludes.

On this night, we strike new fire, a sign of the first work of the Creator, and the one who is the Light of the World. We tell some of our “family stories” from the Old Testament, and renew baptisms.
