Located in the Lakeview Neighbourhood, also known by its nickname “Boystown,” between the 3245-3704 blocks of North Halsted Street.
The Legacy Walk is an outdoor streetscape museum of historic markers that memorialize, illumine and affirm the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender,and queer (LGBTQ) people who have made contributions to world history and culture.
Members and friends of Augustana will take a Legacy Walk Tour, led by our Cantor and Office Administrator, Padraig McGuire, who lives in the area. Augustana was one of the first congregations in the Metro Chicago Synod to join the Reconciling in Christ movement, welcoming and affirming LGBTQ people.
After the 10:45am Service, we will have sandwiches from Jimmy Johns and carpool up to the Lakeview neighbourhood at 12 noon.
