Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a season of penitence and a call to justice. The ashes symbolize both our very beginning, being made from dust, and our ending, when to dust we shall return. It grounds us in creation.
Today, February 17th, Augustana’s Nave will be open from 11am – 2pm for prayer, meditation and to receive ashes. You may also pick up a packet of ashes then, to take home and use to sign yourself while you watch the recorded video above.
