Bollywood at Augustana

Tonight, Friday, March 10, at 6:00 pm, we will be hosting a movie night in Gorder Hall.  The movie is PK, a recent movie by Vinod Chopra about a naive alien sent to study Earth who asks awkward questions about why people put so much store in religious divisions.

It is clever, thought provoking, and fun. There are some passing references to sexual activity (The alien arrives naked and first gets clothes and money from “dancing cars”). But this is Bollywood, so visuals are restrained.

We will eat Indian food beforehand, and watch the movie at 7:00.

Consider becoming a member of Augustana
Joining a congregation is a way of publicly expressing your identity as a follower of Jesus. Members are the engine behind the ministry of worship and proclamation, service and education that happens here. If you’d like to take this step at Augustana, we’ll gather for new member sessions between the services on March 26April 2 and April 9, so that we’re ready to take in new members on April 23, the Sunday after Easter. Some people who want to remain members of another congregation, but worship at Augustana while here in Hyde Park, join as associate members. If you’re interested in joining, or you’d like to know more, talk to Pastor Goede.
Check out our new website!
Augustana’s new website is now up and in use! Same address (, but a new look with new material. Thank you to Marc Dukes for designing the site, and to Jim Vondracek for helping to get it up and running.
Nursery Open!
This Sunday, our nursery will reopen with a new nursery attendant, Bahati Kimondo. Children through kindergarten age may stay in the nursery during the 10:45am service. Our nursery was remodeled as part of our capital campaign.

Looking for a piano?
Augustana has two upright pianos we are looking to send to a good home. They would be perfect for anyone just starting out. Contact the office if you would be interested in taking one!
Summer Programming Survey Attached
This summer, rather than having a week-long daytime Vacation Bible School aimed at children, we’re considering offering a peace camp for both children and adults that would meet in the evening. We’d like your feedback on possible dates and times, activities and resources. Please fill out this survey to help us make decisions and plans.
