Tomorrow, we welcome the Kaw Prairie Community Church youth group, from Lenaxa, Kansas, to worship at Augustana. Kaw Prairie is related to both the ELCA and the Presbyterian Church (USA). Last week, we hosted the youth group from Joy Lutheran Church in Centuria, Wisconsin.
The youth groups use Augustana as a base for their trip, sleeping here on air mattresses, using the kitchen to prepare meals, holding evening prayers. For two days, the group from Joy Lutheran worked at Just Roots in the South Loop but also did tourism in the city, spending part of a day at 35th Street Beach and another at Navy Pier.
