This Sunday, we celebrate Pentecost, one of the principal feasts of our liturgical year. As we read last Sunday, the Ascension is the end of the story of Jesus’ life on earth and, this Sunday, we begin a new story: the story of the Holy Spirit descending on the disciples at Pentecost and uniting the followers of Jesus in the Church. Pentecost is also the spark of an international effort to include everyone, Jewish and non-Jewish, into God’s family. It is the story of the beginning of the church.
Everyone is encouraged to wear something red to worship this Sunday!
