During the Lenten season, we are using a bread plate and Phoenician glass cup made by Palestinian Christians in Bethlehem. There are very few Palestinian Christians left in the Holy Land and their interests are different from the Muslim majority around them. Our national church, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, works in close partnership with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land.
