Rosca de Reyes, or Three Kings Bread, is a soft orange-flavored sweet bread that’s traditionally made in Latin America to celebrate Three Kings Day, or Epiphany.
The three kings following the star to Christ have become an important symbol for the people of Puerto Rico and the rest of Latin America. Augustana will observe the Epiphany this Sunday, January 5, and in the education hour you are invited to follow the journey of the wise men from Matthew across the centuries as they continue to reveal Christ to the world. What do these fellow travelers and Christ worshippers have to say to us today in our charged social and political context? We will look at examples of world art to illustrate the good news of the wise men in different times and places. Led by Esther Menn; in the Gustavus Adolphus room, 9:45 – 10:30 a.m.
