As the sub-title of Augustana’s weekly newsletter declares, worship is at the heart of everything we do. Transitioning from our lives to worship and then back out into the world is an element of our shared, community worship.
Gathering for Worship
As we gather for worship, please be mindful that for many in our community, they get ready for worship in quiet prayer or contemplation, listening to the prelude and preparing to encounter the divine. Please greet each other quietly, and hold longer and louder conversations in the narthex.
Postlude
The postlude provides a transition from sacred worship back into our lives and activities, equipped with renewed commitment to serve God and others. During the postlude, it is appropriate to either remain quiet and seated during this transition, or go to the Narthex to engage in conversation with each other. If you have children whose exuberance might make it difficult for others to hear the postlude, please consider taking them to the coffee hour during this transition.
