Can We Talk About Gaza?

Toward a compassionate Christian response to the current crisis in Israel-Palestine
Thursday, May 9th, 7-9pm
Augustana Lutheran Church

What does our Christian faith require us to see, say, and do in response to the crisis before us in Gaza? Join us as we listen, learn, lament, and consider how Christians might be salt, light, and true peacemakers amid such tragic and trying times.

Lutheran Campus Ministry is partnering with several UChicago Christian communities to host a moderated conversation examining Christian ethics, historical and theological context, and a vision of compassionate and conscientious response to the current crises. Q&A will follow.

Guests include Daniel Bannourra, a Palestinian Christian and theologian; Jennifer Bing, a Quaker human rights and peacemaking advocate; and Alexander Massad, Professor of World Religions at Wheaton College. The conversation will be moderated by Alec Chavez, an MA candidate in social work at UChicago.

The event is open to anyone. We only ask that all observe a posture of respect.
