St. Francis Day and Pet Blessings

Sunday October 8 is a day to remember that God’s creation includes more than people, but also the furry and slithering, winged and web-footed. Bring your dog or cat, fish or snake for a blessing when we commemorate St. Francis, who preached to the flocks of birds around him. Animals can stay with you throughout the service in our carpet-free, upholstery-free worship space. Please keep your animals on leashes or in carriers. Everyone receives treats and remembrances of the day.

Children are welcome to bring their stuffed friends for a blessing. Those who have lost animals are welcome to bring a picture of their love one to the front during the blessing, as we remember those who have died and are in God’s care.

Eucharist liturgy and the animal blessing will happen at 8:30 am and 10:45 am. Between the services, at 9:45am is Sunday School for children, youth education for teens, and adult education.
