Updated August 18, 2023: Although originally scheduled for six weeks, this scripture study has been extended and will meet on Thursday August 24 and 31st. Everyone is welcome, including those who did not attend the originally scheduled sessions. For more information, please contact Pastor Stuhlmuller.
Over the course of six sessions, we will work our way through the apostle Paul’s epistle to the Romans. Widely regarded as Paul’s masterpiece, this letter is a magisterial theological document in which Paul argues for the salvation of Jew and Gentile alike by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. We will consider the overall argument, key themes, and various interpretive issues. We will come away with a better understanding of many of the ideas and issues that animated the early church and that continue to animate our life today.
We will meet on Thursdays at 12pm in the Gustavus Adolphus Room at Augustana, starting on Thursday, June 22 and ending on Thursday, July 27. Feel free to bring your lunch as we eat and study together. All are welcome! Please invite friends and family from outside the Augustana community. If you’re interested or have questions, please let Pastor Matt Stuhlmuller know at campuspastor@augustanahydepark.org.
