Long-time Augustana members Mildred (Millie) and Erl Dordal had deep roots in campus ministry. As students, they met through campus ministry. At Augustana, Millie chaired the campus ministry committee and they were instrumental in establishing the endowment for campus ministry at Augustana.
Millie died in 2001 and Erl last year. Earlier this week, Augustana received a disbursement from a testamentary trust established by the Dordals, a $15,000 gift designated for the campus ministry endowment.
For many, these types of gifts are a sort of final stewardship – a way of supporting what a person cared about beyond their lifetime. These types of gifts can be made via a will, a trust, an annuity, or life insurance.
